SAPA- BAC HA MARKET
TOURS OVERVIEW:
Bac Ha is really famed for its beautiful
rugged karst mountain range, exotic cultures and green development. This is
home to 10 Montagnard groups : the colourful Flower H’mong are the most
visible, but other groups include Dzao, Giay (Nhang), Han (Hoa), Xa Fang,
Lachi, Nung, Phula, Thai and Thulao.
One of Bac Ha’s main industries is the
manufacture of alcoholic home brews (rice wine, cassava wine and corn liquor).
The corn hooch produced by the Flower H’mong is so potent it can ignite! Bac Ha
is the only place in Vietnam where you’ll find this particular moonshine;
there’s an entire area devoted to it at the Sunday market.
Once getting inside the market gate,
tourists will see stalls full of mountain fruits like peach, apricot, pear and
plum. Buying some fruits for the dinner dessert or enjoy during the trip is a
good idea
BRIEF ITINERARY
Night 1: on the train (Ha Noi - Lao Cai)
Day 1: Ha Noi - Lao Cai – Sapa- Cat Cat
village (You can choose stay in hotel or in home stay)
Day 2: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van village (
B/L/D)
Day 3: Sapa - Bac Ha Market- Ha Noi
(only Sunday morning)
Day 4: Arrive in Hanoi

ITINERARY
Night 1: on the train (Ha Noi - Lao Cai)
Our guide picks you up at your hotel in
Hanoi to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train to Lao Cai. He will inform
you how to do the check in procedure and keep the rest of the ticket when you
check out from Lao Cai Railway Station and also will let you know how to be
picked up at Lao Cai Station.
Day 1: Ha Noi
- Lao Cai – Sapa- Cat Cat village (You can choose stay in hotel or in
home stay)
Pick up at Lao
Cai train station to Sa Pa by minibus. Arrive in Sa Pa in the mid-morning, then
have breakfast and relax at hotel, after that the guide takes you to visit two
villages of Black H’mong people (Cat Cat Village), a waterfall and you have a
chance to see the hydroelectric power station built by the French. Back to Sa
Pa for lunch. At the afternoon you are free to visit Sa Pa town and Ham
Rong, Sapa market. Dinner and overnight in Sapa.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
- Accommodation: Hotel in Sapa
Day 2: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van village (B/L/D)
After breakfast,
the guide takes you to the villages of the H’mong and Dzay called Lao Chai and
Ta Van. Have lunch on the way or in a family of the ethnic people. Return to Sa
Pa
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch.
- Accommodation: On the train
Day
3: Sapa - Bac Ha Market- Ha Noi (only Monday morning).
You'll take a
bus (with other people) to Bac Ha at 7am. You'll arrive in Bac Ha at 10am. You
will visit the market the whole morning. You'll see plenty of the flower H'mong
people, they are nice and hospitable. Items on sale in the market include water
buffalos, pigs, horses and chickens...etc. At 4-4.30pm you'll take the bus (with
other people) again back to Lao Cai train station back to Lao Cai train
station, catch a night train back to Ha Noi.
Day 4: Arrive in Hanoi
The train arrives in Hanoi about 5:30 am.
Our guide will pick you up to the hotel. Trip ends.
